EUth Voices for Social Change 2-day workshop in Turin: An inclusive and sustainable future
The final in-person activity of the project filled with enriching workshops and engaging activities has just concluded! Fundación Farrah, Youthmakers Hub, and Microkosmos came together in Turin to collectively delve into the multifaceted topics of inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability.
Day 1: Fostering Inclusivity, Accessibility and Sustainability
The event kicked off with friendly welcomes and an icebreaker aimed at uniting a diverse group of participants into a cohesive unit. Sofia Mastrokoukou led a thought-provoking session on creating an accessible future for all, especially focusing on the inclusivity of people with disabilities. This was a powerful start that charged the group with a sense of purpose.
As the day progressed, the focus shifted to the fashion industry’s sustainability challenges under the guidance of Irene Valachis. The participants were encouraged to critically assess their consumption habits and consider the impact of fashion on the environment, prompting a reflective and forward-thinking discussion on driving positive change.
Day 2: Cultural Immersion and Reflection on Identity
The second day offered a rich cultural experience, beginning with a visit to the Maria Callas exhibition. The participants immersed themselves in the artistic and historical significance of the exhibition, which served as a backdrop for the day’s theme.
Following the exhibition, the group engaged in a citywide treasure hunt that was both enjoyable and educational, providing a playful way to explore deeper societal issues.
The day concluded with thought-provoking poetry lectures. These lectures resonated deeply with the attendees, inspiring them to consider their roles as proactive members of their communities. The collective experience of the two days left each individual with a renewed sense of empowerment to effect change.
