Greening the Digital Revolution 2 – Day Workshop

A two-day event full of interactive activities and workshops is completed! Fundación Farrah, Youthmakers Hub and Microkosmos gathered to explore together how digital tools can affect the environment and the world around us.

Day 1: Let’s Get Digital – Innovative Storytelling Through Digital Media

The event kicked off with a burst of creativity and inspiration during the “Let’s Get Digital” workshop, led by Georgia Anna Chondrou, the Communication Lead of Youthmakers Hub. The participants explored innovative ways to harness the power of digital media for storytelling. This crucial skill is instrumental in not only conveying vital messages about the environment but also engaging and motivating the masses towards sustainable practices.

Attendees delved into the art of crafting compelling narratives through various digital mediums such as social media, blogs, and podcasts. They learned how to blend data-driven facts with evocative storytelling techniques to capture the public’s attention and inspire change.

At the end of the workshop the teams had to create their own stories, using only emoji in order to raise awareness on social issues and call everyone to action.

Day 2: Greening the Digital Revolution

The second day of the event, hosted by Pinelopi Katsigianni, Project Manager, and Eleni Modou, Project and Communications Assistant of Youthmakers Hub, focused on “Greening the Digital Revolution.” The workshop examined the symbiotic relationship between the digital realm and ecological sustainability.

In this segment, participants delved into the various ways that digital technology impacts the environment, both positively and negatively. The workshop emphasized the need for ethical and sustainable digital practices, considering the carbon footprint, electronic waste, and energy consumption associated with the digital world.

By the end of the two-day event, participants had a deeper understanding of how digital technology and environmental consciousness can work in tandem. They left equipped with actionable strategies for greening their digital practices and promoting sustainability within their communities.

These two days were a step towards a more sustainable digital future, fostering a global community dedicated to using technology as a force for positive environmental & social change. With increasing awareness and knowledge, the digital age is transforming into a greener and more conscious revolution, ensuring a harmonious coexistence with our planet and other people around us.
